Coordinating Minister for the Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and General Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Golkar Party

Coordinating Minister for the Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and General Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Golkar Party

Distinguished guests, esteemed delegates, and esteemed ladies and gentlemen,

We sincerely thank you for attending the "Golkar's 60th Anniversary International Political Parties Symposium on Geopolitical Challenges" in Jakarta. Your participation highlights the significance of our discussions and the imperative nature of our joint efforts to address the urgent global challenges of our time.

Guided by the doctrine of "Karya Kekaryaan," the Golkar Party views society from a functional perspective rather than through ideological lenses. By prioritizing roles and functions over rigid ideologies, Golkar remains committed to a program-oriented approach and effective problem-solving. This event exemplifies this doctrine and reflects Golkar's contribution to Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045 and its commitment to advancing global welfare.

Once again, we warmly welcome you to this symposium and look forward to engaging in discussions and productive collaborations.

ABOUT

In recent decades, the global geopolitical landscape has undergone profound transformations, characterized by heightened competition among major powers, regional conflicts, the impacts of climate change, migration crises, and resource scarcity. These challenges have significantly disrupted global political stability and security, posing substantial obstacles to worldwide economic progress and well-being. In response, Indonesia remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting international peace and stability. Through active engagement in various global forums, we strive to foster enhanced collaboration and pursue innovative yet sustainable solutions to address these escalating global challenges.

Amidst these complexities, the role of political parties has become pivotal in shaping responsive policies to address multifaceted global issues. Beyond their primary function in domestic politics, political parties also assume crucial roles in international diplomacy and policy formulation. This underscores the need for a deep and adaptive comprehension of global geopolitical shifts to develop effective policies that advance global stability and sustainable development.

In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Golongan Karya (Golkar) Party, one of Indonesia's oldest and largest political parties, is organizing the International Political Parties Symposium on Geopolitical Challenges. This symposium aims to provide a platform for leaders, political party members, and academics from various countries to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange insights, and establish stronger networks of cooperation. The goal is to emphasize the crucial role of political parties in navigating international geopolitical and economic dynamics.

Golkar recognizes the necessity of adapting to change within an interconnected global system and emphasizes the importance of strategic partnerships among stakeholders across borders to collectively address issues requiring coordinated action. It is anticipated that the symposium's implementation will catalyse the development of various sustainable policies that enhance the global influence of political parties while promoting international cooperation toward a prosperous future for all.

OBJECTIVES

This International Symposium aims to establish and strengthen global cooperation networks among political parties, academics, and diverse stakeholders to enhance collaboration on pressing global issues. The anticipated outcomes include:

  1. Facilitating constructive and mutually beneficial dialogue among stakeholders from various countries.
  2. Developing a comprehensive understanding of global economic and geopolitical challenges to formulate sustainable and impactful solutions at both national and international levels.
  3. Cultivating enhanced global cooperation among stakeholders, thereby benefiting the Indonesian populace and the international community alike.
  4. Enabling the Golkar Party to make substantial contributions to global stability

and prosperity, while reinforcing Indonesia's international stature in alignment with its commitments to national and international development.
